Are you clairsentient? Sometimes known as “clear feeling,” clairsentience is the quiet gift of sensing energy, emotions, and truth beyond words. You might not always know how you know … you just do.
Dear Friends,
I believe that when we’re born, we arrive in our purest form, uncorrupted, untouched by shoulds and shouldn’ts. There’s a clarity to us then. A kind of knowing that doesn’t come from logic, but from feeling.
But life happens. We’re taught. Guided. Corrected. And corrected again, until, some of our deepest gifts get pushed down. We stop trusting what we feel. We doubt our inner sense. We learn to ignore and override what we know in our bones and replace it with what we’re told is “reasonable.”
Some of us were always sensitive, we could walk into a room and feel everything. We sensed when something was off, even when no one said anything. We picked up on moods, energy, subtle shifts. We just knew.
Sometimes we’d meet someone and instantly feel drawn in … or pushed back. Sometimes we’d have a quiet hunch about how something would unfold. A small knowing that lived in the chest or gut .
But without encouragement, that sensitivity can start to feel like a flaw. We’re told we’re overthinking. That we’re too emotional. Too imaginative. And so we begin to shrink from our own knowing.
But it never really goes away.
15 Quiet Signs You Might Be Clairsentient

You feel people’s moods instantly, even when they hide it.
You walk into a room and just know. You sense the tension in someone’s shoulders. The way their smile doesn’t quite reach their eyes. The energy around them tells a truth their words don’t. You may have spent your life pretending not to notice, but your nervous system always does.
You absorb energy like a sponge.
After certain conversations, after being in crowds or intense environments, you feel exhausted. Heavier. Like you’re carrying something invisible and sticky. That’s not drama, it’s sensitivity. It’s energy moving through you, sometimes without your permission.
Your body reacts to hidden truths.
Your gut tenses. Your chest tightens. You get a chill or a wave of nausea when something’s off even when everyone else smiles and nods. You may not know what’s wrong. You just know something is. Sometimes you know exactly when someone is lying, even if you try to ignore it.
You may not always have proof. But your body never lies.
You’ve been called “too sensitive” most of your life.
People might have rolled their eyes, sighed, or told you to toughen up. But what they saw as weakness was really perception. You notice shifts. You sense things before they’re said. Your sensitivity is not weakness … it’s attunement.
Group dynamics overwhelm you.
It’s not just introversion. It’s the unspoken tension in a group chat. The undercurrents at family gatherings. The pressure in a meeting where no one says what they’re actually thinking. It all hums around you, and your system picks it all up. All of it.
You experience strong “vibes” from people even strangers.
You’ve met someone and instantly felt warmth. Or discomfort. Or sadness that didn’t make sense, until later, when something was revealed. Your radar is subtle, but strong. And often, it’s painfully accurate.
You can feel when someone is thinking about you.
You get a sudden wave of anxiety or warmth. A memory come up. You feel their presence. Then they text. Or call. Or something reminds you of them. It’s not just coincidence. It’s energetic connection.
You cry easily and … not always for yourself.
Movies, music, strangers crying on the street, it all moves you. You cry at small beauty, old grief, injustice, other people’s memories. Your heart has a wide reach. Your tears are part of how you process this big messy world.
You carry emotions that don’t belong to you.
Sometimes you feel sad, or anxious, or angry and it doesn’t make sense. Later, you realize you picked it up from someone else. Maybe even someone far away. You’re a channel, and your system sometimes forgets to filter.
You sense things before they happen.
You knew the relationship was ending. You sensed something was wrong with a friend. You knew you were going to end up parting ways, even before your mind understood it. You anticipated the conflict, the confession, the grief. Because your system picked it up before the words ever came.
You feel drained by emotionally heavy people.
Even short, polite conversations can leave you hollowed out if the person carries a lot of unspoken pain or pressure. You might not even dislike them but something in you needs space afterward. Silence. Recharging.

You’re drawn to water and cleansing rituals.
Water resets you. Whether it’s a bath, a long shower, or just washing your hands and you feel lighter afterward. You’re not just cleaning your skin. You’re clearing your field, washing away all the downloads.
You feel energy in objects.
Sometimes when you touch a letter, a crystal, a piece of clothing, a keepsake you feel something. A voice. A story. A heaviness. A comfort. It’s not imagination. It’s an imprint. You’re just tuned in.
You sense the presence of others, spirits, animals, ancestors through sensation.
You may not see them, but you know. Like with your loved ones who have transitioned. You feel them in the atmosphere. You can feel them in your heart. In the nervous system. In the body’s language that speaks before the mind does.
You just know without needing to explain how.
You don’t need proof. Or logic. You feel it in your bones. In your breath. In the way you suddenly just know what’s true even when it doesn’t make sense. You’re learning to trust that knowing.
If even 10 of these resonate, you’re strongly clairsentient. But if you felt all 15.
You’re not just clairsentient. You’re someone who feels the world in layers and your body is the sacred vessel that translates it all.
A Note on Hypervigilance vs. Clairsentience
For those of us who are ACA’s or grew up in unsafe or unpredictable homes, we often developed hypervigilance, a constant scanning of our environment, a nervous system trained to anticipate the next shift in mood or danger. It’s exhausting, and it’s a survival skill.
Clairsentience is different, though the two can live in the same body.
Clairsentience isn’t a trauma response. It’s not rooted in fear. It’s quieter, slower, more spacious. I feel like it doesn’t demand that you do something with the information it simply offers a knowing. Hypervigilance says, “You must protect.” Clairsentience says, “You can notice.”
I think healing means learning to untangle the two.
If you’ve lived with hypervigilance, you may have never had the chance to experience your sensitivity without fear. That doesn’t mean your sensitivity isn’t real, or special.
It might just mean, like me, we’re still learning what it feels like to sense without fear.
To feel, and stay safe.
To notice, without needing to fix or flee.
To let your inner knowing speak… and not have to defend it.
Astrological Signs of Clairsentience
As some of you might know, I’ve been exploring my birth chart to better understand and reflect on some of the things I’ve always felt but couldn’t explain. Along the way, I noticed a few placements that seem to point to clairsentience. Maybe you’ll recognize some of these in your own chart too:
🌙 Moon trine Neptune
This is one of the clearest signs of emotional and psychic empathy.
The Moon rules your emotional world. Neptune rules the unseen dreams, spiritual energy, collective feelings. When they form a trine, it creates a deep ability to absorb unspoken truths.
It’s like being emotionally porous, you don’t just notice someone’s mood; you feel it in your body.
☿ Mercury in Pisces
Mercury is how you think, process, and communicate.
In Pisces is a sign known for intuition, dreams, and symbolic language and means that your mind doesn’t rely on logic alone.
You sense what’s true before the facts.
This is the placement of what I like to call, the dream translator, the empathic listener, the one who speaks in feeling more than facts.
♀ Venus or Chiron in the 12th House
The 12th House is the realm of the invisible, your subconscious, your spiritual memory, your hidden emotional world. Venus here means you love in quiet, unseen ways. Your empathy is deep and intuitive. Chiron here can mean you’ve experienced being misunderstood or emotionally hidden, but it also carries powerful healing energy when you’re safe enough to trust what you feel.
It’s a placement that can quietly tune into the emotional layers other people can’t see.
You’re likely wired to feel the world in quiet, subtle, and often layered ways.
Have you noticed other placements that connect to your clairsentience? I’d love to know, I’m still learning too.
