Hi, I’m Sofie ~
I use this name in honor of my beloved soul dog, who taught me so much about love, loyalty, and healing. I also write under this name to protect someone dear to me, my mum. While I’m comfortable speaking my truth, she’s not. And I honor that.
I’m a mixed-race Japanese woman, a teacher by profession, a quiet writer by nature, and a labour advocate at heart. This space began as a quiet creative retreat to catch my breath and begin writing again after years of carrying too much.
Like many, I learned to hide the weight of my childhood memories … For a long time, I simply carried on. But little by little, I began tending to those hidden wounds, and slowly finding my way back to myself.
This is space is for us. We never quite got to be children. We walked through the fire and we still keep going. We are quietly rebuilding a life of peace, even if no one notices.
I believe that we don’t have to become hardened. That there is still beauty to be found in life if we are willing to soften to it.
I believe in quiet mornings, everyday rituals, nourishing meals and honoring my ancestors.
This is a safe place to rest. To remember who you were meant to be.
Welcome ~
